Have you ever wondered about the benefits trees that line city streets have on the well-being of people? Urban trees make up a special type of forest, one that benefits people and water quality across the board. Join presenter Leah Weston as we explore urban forestry. We will learn about the urban forestry field, benefits of trees to the community, threats to our urban tree canopy and actions people can take to preserve our urban forests. At the conclusion of the talk, we’ll take a 1 hour walking tour to see examples of the urban tree canopy in downtown Faribault and Central Park.
