Throwing on the Wheel (A Retired but Not Tired class) Session 2 Member $60/Non-Member $70 or $15 per class time. Tuesday Afternoons 1 to 2:30 PM Adult Class. Session 2: February 26 - April 9 (no class March 19)
Prerequisite Course(s) and/or Skills Needed for this class: Must be ready to get dirty!
Throwing on the Wheel is a class to learn the various steps to create pots on the wheel. Dianne
will guide you thru the various steps needed to perfect your skills by giving demonstrations of
the process. It is up to the student to put in time to develop those skills. Repetition and
patience are necessary. Throwing is a calming yet frustrating experience that we go thru
together. Your first experiences may yield smaller pieces but we are working to develop a firm
foundation in the skills so that your skills will grow through practice. All levels are welcome in
this class. Dianne is willing to work with all levels of experience with personal instruction
throughout the class. Students are encouraged to work in the studio outside of the regular class
hours to further their skills - on the wheel, repeated practice definitely advances your technique.
Pieces will be glazed. Supply Fee: Clay must be purchased at PCA by the student. Cost is $2 per pound or 25# for $45. List of materials the student must supply: Tools will be supplied but PCA will have tools for sale for those who wish to have their own set of tools. Instructor: Dianne Lockerby
