The City of Faribault Public Works Department will hold an open house on Wednesday, May 24th from 4 – 6 pm. This free community event, coincides with National Public Works Week (May 21 – 27). National Public Works Week dates back, nationally, to 1960 when the American Public Works Association sponsored a week of events dedicated to showing citizens the value and importance of public works to their daily lives. The public works open house provides an opportunity for the public to get a glimpse of, and learn more about the equipment and staff needed to operate and maintain Faribault’s roads, facilities, and below ground infrastructure. Take part in a variety of activities at this family friendly event: • Meet and visit with staff behind the equipment. • Tour the Public Works and Parks Facility. • Play games and win prizes. • View trucks and heavy equipment. • Enjoy snacks and refreshments. For more information, please visit the City’s Facebook page or www.ci.faribault.mn.us.
