DESCRIPTION:Calling all students in 8th-12th grade! Join us for an exciting new volunteer opportunity: the Museum Apprentice Program!\n\n\n\nApprentices will learn about what it takes to work at a museum. They will:\n\n  Get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at the Rice County Historical Society.\n\n  Work with RCHS staff and other volunteers.\n\n  Improve communication skills.\n\n  Expand their knowledge of museums and history.\n\n  Discuss museum and history topics as they develop projects.\n\n  Help at RCHS during the Rice County Fair\, and at programs throughout the year.\n\n  Work on projects independently and in groups\, such as exhibit design\, collections management\, or living history demonstrations.\n\n\n\nApprentices will meet weekly at RCHS on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30. Training sessions will begin on September 25 and continue for 4 weeks\, after which\, participants will begin working on their projects.\n\n\n\nIf you are interested in signing up for the Museum Apprentice Program\, applications are available at the Rice County Historical Society\, 1814 NW Second Avenue\, Faribault\, MN 55021\, or www.rchistory.org/content/youth-programs.
